Comprising of housing, office, leisure, and retail spaces, the ISHO A Building is part of a mixed-use development meant to regenerate a former industrial site in the city of Timisoara.
The plot is located at the confluence of two historic neighbourhoods, characterized by a high degree of urban coherence. The particular context and the urban relationships established around the site create the fertile ground for the creation of a new community within the development.
ISHO A Building marks the corner of this site, stretching along the new road and opening up toward the river Bega. The project holds a privileged position within the development, as it is also situated along a new pedestrian route. This particular context created the opportunity for a vertical accent, a twenty-storey residential tower, seconded by a four-storey volume containing the more public functions. At ground floor level, the retail spaces open up towards the urban plinth through a portico.
The four-storey volume contains office and retail spaces, as well as leisure functions and a pool. The 140 apartments of over 30 different types create a variety of floorplans and living scenarios within the residential tower, while a shared terrace and a community space provide residents with a framework for social interaction.
The project represents a contemporary interpretation of urban living, designed to become a landmark of Timisoara’s skyline.
