We are pleased to announce that, many years after the 2008 competition, the National University of Arts Bucharest is opening the UNArte Art Collection and its new Library to the public for the first time – two spaces dedicated to artistic heritage, research, and visual education. This milestone marks the completion of the first phase of a project that began nearly two decades ago, following the award of First Prize in the 2008 national competition for the extension and rehabilitation of UNArte, organized by the National University of Arts Bucharest in partnership with the Romanian Order of Architects.

The intervention completed to date focuses on the transformation and enhancement of the existing buildings through the creation of new cultural and educational spaces. The proposed extension will be implemented in a future phase of the project.

The public opening of the Art Collection and the new Library marks an important moment, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank the National University of Arts Bucharest for the dedication, perseverance and continued commitment to this project over the years.

The inaugural programme, “Noua”, will take place between 29 June and 1 July 2026:

— 29 June: Press conference and guided tours
— 30 June: Event dedicated to the cultural and academic community
— 1 July: Opening to the public
